3 FILMS 3 PHOTOGRAPHS
A Critical Reader
Mario Pfeifer (Ed.)
A slender artist’s book by the German artist Mario Pfeifer centers around three films and three related photographs that become transformed into a reader to examine a range of issues from a cultural and media point of view. Focusing on how we produce notions of culture, history and knowledge, as well as the roles media such as film, books and exhibitions play, the artist looks at the factors that influence our identity and our perspectives. The volume explores the risks inherent in image production for the means of knowledge, and ways that these concerns are made visible within film and photography itself. Texts by Michael Ned Holte, Christy Lange, Nicolas Linnert, Vanessa Joan Mùˆller and Vivien Trommer.
